Wiring Diagram for Bathroom Vanity Light, Gfi, and Fan
Wiring ? for light/beat fan combo, wall light & GFCI outlet...
We did this once, and we got it done without too many problems, but this bathroom is pumped differently, and we desperately need help! Delight?
We added a new exhaust buff/cap unaccented combo to our bathroom that had no ceiling fixture, decided to add a GFCI outlet by the light exchange As well, and we definite to keep the light fixing on the wall, but we give the axe't seem to figure out how to wire information technology just rightmost.
On that point is 14/2 wiring that the underivative light switch was bound to, and we had to use 14/3 to establis the fan/shallow combo.
We're non sure what we did wrong, only something isn't right. The GFCI apparently has reversed polarity with the way we make it currently wired, (The mogul is just forth to the bathroom completely for now!), the existing light on the wall is controlled by the switch we have for it, but information technology's also controlled by the light switch set forth of the dual switch we have for the fan/buoyant, merely the friable on the fan/light doesn't work, in spite of the fact that the fan works. UGH! And the directions to the fan/phosphorescent were NOT thorough instructions at all. Then..
We pigtailed 3 black wires, 3 grounds, and 3 white wires to the existing wires coming into the switches, soh we'd have matchless for each switch. (Starting nighest to the door it's the swop for the wall light first, the lover/light switch is following and that is followed by the GFCI). Past there are 4 wires coming in from the 14/3 that is hooked risen to the lover/light.
Initial, we put across the grounds on all 3 switches. Then we lay one of the piggybacked black and light-skinned wires where they go on the wall pastel transposition.
Next, the fateful telegraph coming from the house is happening the left top of the multiple switch with the red wire coming from the sports fan/get down unit (the 14/3) connected the top of the right side of the switch, and the black wire from the 14/3 on the bottom suited of the switch.
Finally, we have the black-and-white wires from the mansion going to the allow places happening the GFCI electric receptacl.
Considering that we know for sure that the white and black wires on the GFCI are where they are supposed to start according to how it is labeled, but it is tranquillise showing that the polarity is reversed, we think that we've messed au fait the colourless wires, but we're non sure where. The reason we're thinking this, is because all of the neutrals in the other bathroom are pigtailed together, and only unity of them in reality goes to any of the switches. But if we do that in this case, one of the switches would be leftish with only a ground and a dark-skinned wire. We just can't figure tabu where we went inopportune!
Can anyone avail us? Delight?!
Waiting with great anticipation (since the power is off in the bathroom until we drive it wired right!!),
